If using E-Cleaner:

Dilute to 10 ounces to a gallon, and apply using a garden (pump) sprayer. Mount a 3M White 4100, Beige 4200, or Red 5100 Cleaner pad or a comparable pad on a low speed floor scrubber / buffer. Spray enough cleaning solution to make the tiles wet enough to allow the floor scrubber to get going. Scrub floor, moving across the floor at about 1’ per second, moving back and forth to blend. Vacuum up wet residue. Wet mop with clean water using a microfiber mop. If that does not blend the floor, then go to the E-Strip.

If using E-Strip:

Conditioning is best accomplished using E-Strip. Use up to 40 ounces E-Strip to a gallon of cold water and apply the mixture to the tiles using a garden (pump) sprayer. Mount a 3M 7100 Brown, Blue 5300, or 7200 Black Cleaner pad or a comparable pad on a low speed floor scrubber / buffer. (Do not use a 3M 7300 High Productivity Black pad.) Spray enough diluted E-Strip solution to make the tiles wet enough to allow the floor scrubber to get going. E-Strip can be applied and allowed to sit for a few moments before scrubbing. This allows time for the stripper to “soften” the soil and sealer.) If E-Strip solution dries on floor, just apply more. Scrub floor, moving buffer from one side to the other until sealer is removed. Apply E-Strip solution to keep floor wet as you scrub. Vacuum up wet residue as you go. Repeat as required. Wet mop with clean, cold water using a microfiber mop. Allow to COMPLETELY dry. Applying ECOguard sealers onto an even slightly damp floor will result in a failed application. Apply one coat of the ECOguard sealer using a microfiber mop. Use foam brush for perimeter / cutting in. Additional coats are acceptable; allow each coat of ECOguard to dry thoroughly (2‐4 hours) before applying next coat, and allow ECOguard to cure for 48 hours before cleaning surface.

CLEANING PROCEDURES

1. Initial Cleaning

  • a. Remove all surface soil, debris, sand, and grit by sweeping, dust mopping, or vacuuming with a high
CFM vacuum. For large areas, use auto scrubbers to clean floors.
  • b. Scrub floor with E-Cleaner (10 oz./gal. of water), using buffer or auto scrubber with a soft nylon brush or
approved pad. Avoid flooding the floor.
  • c. Pick up solution with a wet vacuum, rinse with clean water, picking up the rinse water with a wet vacuum
and allow to dry thoroughly (6-8 hours).

2. Daily/Regular Cleaning

  • a. Sweep, dust mop, or vacuum floor to remove surface soil, debris, sand, and grit.
  • b. Damp mop with a microfiber mop or auto- scrub using an approved pad or nylon brush with E-Cleaner (2-4 oz./gal. of water).

3. Restorative Maintenance

  • a. Sweep and dry vacuum floor thoroughly.
  • b. Heavy scrub floor with E-Cleaner (10 oz./gal. of water) or E-Strip. This cleaning may be performed with
an auto scrubber or rotary scrubber.
  • c. Vacuum soiled solution with a wet/dry vacuum.
  • d. Rinse with clean water.
  • e. Pick up solution with wet vacuum.
  • f. Allow floor to thoroughly dry.

4. Heavy Soil

  • a. Remove as much surface soil, debris, sand, and grit as possible by sweeping, dust mopping, or
    vacuuming.
  • b. Scrub floor with E-Cleaner or E-Strip, using a buffer or auto scrubber with an approved pad.
  • c. Pick up solution with a wet vacuum, rinse with clean water and allow to dry thoroughly (6-8 hours).
